When booking your child’s flights please bear in mind that the journey between the College and Heathrow Airport takes 3 to 4 hours, depending on the time of travel.

1. Transfer of students from and to London Heathrow Airport on the first and last day of the course is included in the overall course fee. Please try to ensure your child’s flight arrives between 08:00 and 18:00 hours on the first day of the course, and departs between 09:30 and 17:00 hours on the last day of the course.

Independent taxi transfer (approximate prices as shown below) are payable in respect of students;

a) Arriving at or departing from airports other than London Heathrow regardless of the date of travel
b) Arriving at or departing from any airport outside our regular course dates
c) Very early/late flight arrivals or departures outside the guideline times above, may necessitate special transfer

Birmingham£85.001 hour
Manchester£90.002 hours
Gatwick£210.004 – 5 hours minimum
Stansted£210.004 – 5 hours

Where such transfers are required the College will make necessary arrangements on receipt of the student’s flight details. If direct flights cannot be obtained from your local airport to London Heathrow, we strongly recommend you book flights to and from either Birmingham or Manchester rather than Gatwick or Stansted.

2. The travel form overleaf, giving full details of your child’s travel arrangements, should be returned to Concord College as soon as you have made a definite booking for your child’s outward and return journeys so that arrangements may be made for teachers to meet students at Heathrow Airport. It is important that we receive all the details requested on the form. The booking of the return journey is the parents’ responsibility, and should be made well in advance. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK STAND-BY TICKETS AS THIS CAN CAUSE GREAT PROBLEMS FOR THE COLLEGE AND RISK FOR THE STUDENT.

a) Students Travelling by Air via Heathrow Airport will be met at his/her arrival gate by a teacher. Your child will recognise teachers from Concord College - they will carry a sign ‘CONCORD COLLEGE’ and will wear an identification badge. If your child does not see our sign immediately he/she should wait there and look carefully for the Concord representative. He/she should not go to another part of the airport. Your child will be accompanied to the College coach and driven to Concord. Please complete PART A only of the form.

b) Families in London on Sunday 2 July for July Courses, or Sunday 30 July for August, may take their child to the ‘MEETING POINT’ at London Heathrow Airport, Terminal 2 (next to Information Desk), where they will be met by our teachers and accompanied to the College coach and driven to Concord. Please complete PART B only of the form, indicating a time to meet at the Meeting Point between 08:00 and 18:00 hours. Please also advise if you will meet the student at the Meeting Point on the last day of the course for the return journey and the time or alternatively advise arrangement for the return journey in either Part A (College transfer for flights) or Part C (Collection from College) of the Form.

c) Students travelling direct to College should advise us accordingly using PART C of the form.

Any alterations to the student’s travel arrangements should be advised to the College in good time prior to the date of travel to minimise any difficulties that may occur in altering arrangements.

3. Care should be taken to ensure that the weight of your child’s luggage is well within the baggage allowance determined by the airline to allow for any purchases your child might make whilst in England. Excess baggage charges, if applied on the return journey, can be very high.

PLEASE RETURN COMPLETED TRAVEL FORM AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE
