EnglishAll the students are tested on their first day and placed in classes according to their level of English. The maximum class size of only 12 ensures that students have many opportunities to practise and improve their English each day and get individual help with their problem areas. Students receive 20 hours of tuition per week.

The Teaching Day is divided into three parts with a different emphasis in each one. However, our overall aim is to get students speaking English and activate their existing knowledge of the language. In the first part, classes study traditional language areas such as grammar, function and vocabulary from their textbook, and gain confidence in English language. The second session is to help Students develop their skills with lessons for reading, speaking, writing and listening; while those with higher levels of English take part in lessons devoted to discussion, current affairs and writing.

EnglishThe third part of the day is largely taken up by our options programme which has two main aims; To provide a lighter end to a busy day and to motivate the students by encouraging them to study subjects of particular interest to them through the medium of English. Students choose two subjects during their course.

The choice of subjects may vary from year to year, but Drama, Photography, The History of Pop Music, Art, Health and Fitness, Computer Assisted Language Learning, History of Football, Fashion, Camping and Navigation, Advertising, Sport Sport Sport, Dance Creative English, Music and Cookery have been regulars on recent courses.
